Q: Do I need to reserve
the City Park if I am planning an event at the Park?
A: Yes, to avoid conflict with another group you
should call the City Office at (605) 842-2606. The office will confirm whether
or not another event is scheduled for the time you are requesting.
Q: Is
there a fee to use the City Park?
A: No, the City Park is open to the public from 5:00 AM
until 11:00 PM.
Q: If I want to use the ball parks for a
tournament do I need to reserve them?
A: Yes, to avoid conflict with City league play you need
to call (605) 842-3662 and visit with Steve Ellsworth who keeps the master
schedule for the five City ballparks. If an opening exists and the event is a
non-city league function, you may be required to place a deposit for use of the
fields. The deposit is returned when the fields are left in the condition they
were found and all trash is picked up.
Q: How do I schedule game or
find out the schedule for city league play on the ball parks?
A: Check this WEBB site for schedules of the various
leagues. If you still have a question you can call Steve Ellsworth at (605)
842-3662 as he keeps the master schedule.
Q: Is alcohol permitted
in any of the City parks?
A: No, alcohol is not allowed.
Q: Are restroom
facilities available in the City Park and ballparks?
A: Yes, if you find they are locked after 5 PM you should
call the police department at (605) 842-3324 otherwise during the day contact
the Parks Department at (605) 842-0931.
Q: Does the City have a roller
blade park, ice-skating rink, and bike path or soccer field?
A: No, the City does not offer these types of
recreational activities.
Q: Does the City provide an area for overnight
camping?
A: Yes, there are no water, sewer or electric hookups but
a bathroom facility is nearby as well as a water hydrant. Picnic tables and
grills are also provided. Contact the city office at (605) 842-2606 for the
location and to notify the City you are camping. There is no fee.
Q: I
missed the sign up for summer recreation activities for children. Who do I call
for more information?
A: Summer recreation activities for children are
provided for by various independent organizations. For information on the summer
